Eamon Doak has Usher syndrome, which affects both his hearing and vision. Eamon has always dreamed of flying a plane, and due to the inclusion of a video in Professor Marcus Atlas‘ speech at the Gift of Hearing dinner this year, his wish came true.
Pilot Adrian Van Schouwen from Cloud Dancer Pilot Training was a guest at the Gift of Hearing dinner in April, and after hearing of Eamon’s wish, made the incredibly generous offer to give him a free flying lesson.
Channel 9 featured the story in an exclusive news bulletin on Saturday July 13, which includes footage of Eamon on his flight along with a brief interview with Professor Atlas.
