We are so excited to announce this recognition of Sandra’s professional achievements and personal contributions to the West Australian community. She has already made the finals, having been listed in the top three.
A qualified audiologist, Sandra is a Fellow of Audiology Australia and an Associate Adjunct Professor at The University of Western Australia and Curtin University.
Since her appointment she has doubled the size of Ear Science to 150 clinicians, researchers and support staff, with the number of Lions Hearing Clinics with many across Perth, the Southwest and also New South Wales.
Sandra is on the Rugby WA Foundation board, Ear Science’s Board of Directors, the Lions Hearing Foundation and the Western Australian Health Translation Network. She is a founding member and Treasurer of the Hearing Healthcare Sector Alliance and she regularly presents at national and international conferences.
In recent years, she was the Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre on Ear Disease and Hearing Loss from 2019 to 2023, and Ear Science’s association with the WHO continues under her leadership.
Sandra has been instrumental in strengthening ties with UWA’s Audiology training programme, through work experience, internships and research projects for audiology students.
Some of her previous recognitions include being listed in the Australian Financial Review’s 100 Women on Influence in 2019, and winning 2022 Telstra Best of Business – Championing Health (National) award.
