Dr Stegeman connects the dots between research for better patient health

University Medical Center Utrecht researcher Dr Inge Stegeman farewelled our Clinical Research team this month after three months of intensive collaboration.

Dr Stegeman is an epidemiologist; the main focus of her research is evidence-based medicine, translation of science in clinical care and tinnitus. She makes use of large-scale research data, like the Busselton Health Study, to find information that can change how we treat patients – and the direction of our research.

The Busselton Health Study was a particular drawcard for the Netherlands-based researcher because it examines so many health conditions and includes blood samples for biochemical studies.

As part of her work, Dr Stegeman will examine cause-effect relationships, like the links between hearing and cognition with surgical outcomes.

Ear Science regularly welcomes researchers from around the world to collaborate on our projects. The very best minds from around the world join our team of highly-skilled researchers in the pursuit of new treatments and a cure for hearing loss.
